Availability of Telecommunication Network Infrastructure

The Palapa Ring East Package project itself has a total length of fiber optic cables of 7,003 km consisting of a 2,446 km inland fiber optic cable network and 4,557 km of submarine fiber optic cables and there are also microwave radios for hard-to-reach areas such as plains and high mountains with a total of 52 towers and 49 microwave radio hops.

Participate in Building the Country

The government through the Telecommunication and Information Accessibility Agency of the Ministry of Communication and Information in collaboration with three Implementing Business Entities namely PT Palapa Ring Barat (West Palapa Ring), PT LEN Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Palapa Ring Central) & PT Palapa Timur Telematika (Palapa Ring East) has completed the construction of a national fiber optic backbone network in all district/city capitals in Indonesia in August 2019.

Technology and Development Process

We use three technologies when laying submarine cables: injector technology, plow technology, and ROV technology. Some of the fiber optic cables used are locally produced with domestic component levels (TKDN), capable of transmitting data at very high speeds.
