PT Palapa Timur Telematika Introduces Fiber Optic Technology at SMKN 2 Manokwari

Manokwari | February 3, 2022 PT Palapa Timur Telematika (PTT) held another fiber optic sharing session and an introduction to its supporting equipment in the educational environment. This is one of PTT's efforts to encourage vocational high school students to be ready to face global competition, including technological advancements.

Fiber optic technology is currently widely utilized in the telecommunications sector. Therefore, PTT held a sharing session in the SMKN 2 Manokwari Hall (February 3, 2022). The session included an explanation of fiber optics, an introduction to the Palapa Ring Timur project, power systems, and practical use of OTDRs, Optical Power Meters, and Splicers.

The event was symbolically opened by the Vice Principal for Curriculum, Daniel J. Kelabora, ST, who also emphasized the importance of vocational high school students receiving training and practice from telecommunications technology companies like PTT. PTT also presented plaques, certificates, and souvenirs to the school, represented by the Manokwari Area Manager, Devalino, and Aris Mulyanto from PTT Operations.
