SMKN 3 Sorong Students Enter Palapa Ring East NOC for the First Time

Sorong | June 9, 2026 Enthusiasm was evident among the 30 students from the Computer and Network Engineering (TKJ) department at SMKN 3 Sorong as they entered the Palapa Ring Timur Sorong Network Operation Center (NOC) for the first time on June 9, 2026.

Through this industry visit, the students had the opportunity to gain firsthand insight into the various devices and monitoring systems used to manage the Palapa Ring Timur telecommunications network.

They also gained an understanding of the NOC's role in monitoring and maintaining the quality of telecommunications services across Eastern Indonesia in real-time.

An accompanying teacher from SMKN 3 Sorong noted that this experience served as a valuable opportunity for students to see the practical application of the knowledge they had acquired in the classroom.

“This visit provides students with fresh insights into the professional world and the real-world implementation of telecommunications network technology,” said Irma, a TKJ teacher at SMKN 3 Sorong.

This activity is expected to enhance the students' knowledge, motivation, and readiness to enter the industry, particularly in the fields of information technology and telecommunications.
